Video of the Day, May 2, 2008 - on the advicing for Life.
Everybody´s Free (To Wear Sunscreen) by Baz Luhrmann, originally was published as a chronicle written by Chicago Tribune journalist Mary Schmich in 1997, "Advice, like youth, probably just wasted on the young", and went popular - and viral - even before released as a tune, now gaining even stronger momentum added with music. There is a long version and short version, the long with some actual singing as well, a refrain adding to the goosebumps. I am so weak when it comes to beautiful melodies!
It was actually mistaken to be a real commencement speech by Kurt Vonnegut addressing graduation class of MIT. Read the full story at wikipedia (where else, with full coverage?).
Of course, my favourite advice, among all filled with condensed wisdom, is
"Dance. Even if you have nowhere to do it but your living room."
No surprise, huh?

Bonus [VotD]: A REAL commencement speech, by Steve Jobs, to the Stanford Graduates of 2005 Class. Unmissable, as well. If you want inspiration, that is (of course you do :).
Stay hungry - Stay foolish! And yes, you got to do what you love to do.
The passage to make that happen, the tool, condensed;
"When I was 17, I read a quote that went something like: "If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right." It made an impression on me, and since then, for the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: "If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?" And whenever the answer has been "No" for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.
Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. To the soundtrack of "A life less ordinary" by Alex M. O. R. P. H. and Rank 1, I am concluding I might live up to the title of that song.
After printing out a paper from my professor with a conference article that works as a frame on a potential book project I might contribute to later this autumn before going to bed, I stepped up and had some organically made coffee this morning. The same professor woke me up with a call related to another publication (the merger of my Thesis and Conference paper to one publication), with feedback on how to take it onward, with a draft by July 19 (when my family unites again here in windy sunny Norrköping). The terrible missing of my daughter and wife is somewhat making me drown myself in lots of stuff doing.
I checked my inbox in tranceclubber.com, and a potential gig in Stockholm shows some progress of in-becoming. Gets me truly excited with the potential option to spread love vibes with the crowd, maybe July 13 :). At the same time, I am preparing two more promo mixes to finish my "Summer Promo Trilogy". I set out earlier this summer to make one more meditative and progressive, one more uplifting/melodic/anthemic peak time, and one more with the heavier techier beats to reflect the three main strands of style I keep my Joy of Life EDM distribution in :).
Maybe the most significant joy of the day was the post I received: The certificate with my degree! Master of Social Sciences - Business Administration from Växjö University. Some weeks of bureaucracy, and delivered! Tangible, and real. Cool. I will celebrate that probably with a friend later this weekend.
Soon time for some set time to reset and set my mind for my current sales oddjob, to provide household security to peeps homes with direct alarm move detector and fire triggered 911 auto calls. I guess it is time to get another one of those cups of coffee...
